The major strength of Pepsi is that it is one of the biggest brands in the world. Pepsi is sold in over 150 countries , it is an International drink. And because it is well known in so many countries , the brand automatically has earned its name in the market and has become a very credible drink. Pepsi also has excellent branding and advertising strategies. A lot of Pepsi’s advertising campaigns are enjoyed by the people and it influences their decisions. Pepsi’s advertisements make use of different kinds of appeals. A lot of their ad’s have a creative and sensational appeal. But at the same time the ad’s also have a humor appeal to it. Recently in the year 2011 in tie with the world cup Pepsi produced many ad’s with Celebrity appeal. Famous cricketers like Dhoni and Raina and Shewag were made to advertise for Pepsi and at the same time for the football world cup Pepsi used famous footballers like Didier Drogba and Lionell Messi as their brand ambassadors. Since Pepsi in close competition with Coca-Cola , Pepsi has no other choice but to come out with sensational advertising that seem’s to stick with people for months after the campaign. For years Pepsi has been making use of famous people as their brand ambassadors . People like Michael Jackson, Cindy Crawford, Ray Charles, the boy band Hanson, Britney Spears, Shaquille O'Neal , Beyonce Knowles , Ranbir Kapoor , Priyanka Chopra , Mahendra Singh Dhoni etc are well known brand ambassadors of Pepsi. This automatically becomes a strength for Pepsi because a lot of these people are the idols and role models of thousands of people in the world.
