Pepe The Frog Meaning
Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign issued a explanation that condemned Pepe the Frog, an internet meme, as a symbol of white supremacy. The explanation included an image shared by Donald Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., that featured Trump, his son, and some of his more notable supporters. The image also featured Pepe the Frog.
And just like any meme, Pepe has been modified with a wide array of different meanings. But still, the Clinton campaign believes the frog is a symbol of “white sumpremacy”.
“But in recent months, Pepe’s been almost entirely co-opted by the white supremacists who call themselves the “alt-right.” They’ve decided to take back Pepe by adding swastikas and other symbols of anti-semitism and white supremacy.”
