I woke up hazed with blurred vision. The right side of my face was dried and burned. The left side of my face was soaked in salt water and blood. I was freaked out and picked up my head and blinked rapidly. I saw nothing but blue for miles and miles, the sky and the water. When I looked down I saw nothing but a small black and orange rubber dingy. I tried to think about what had happened. It was then when I realized I couldn't even remember my own name. Then panic just settled in for some reason I jumped in the water freaking out. I came to my senses and quickly started using all my strength to hurdle myself in the dingy.…

In this episode, Dick is having dinner in a restaurant with Mary and attempts to understand the process of tipping. Mary explains to Dick that the money used for tipping is for rewarding the waitress for the service. According to the Reinforcement Theory, if the consequences following the waitress’ service are favorable, she is more likely to demonstrate similar behaviors in the future. But, if the customers do not tip the waitress, she is less likely to demonstrate similar behaviors in the future. Later, Dick and Mary go back to the same restaurant, but this time, Dick initiates a different approach for tipping. He tells the waitress at the beginning that her tips (reward) will change during the dinner time: he will add money to the tips if he is satisfied with her service (positive reinforcement), but he will take some money off the pile as soon as he is dissatisfied (punishment). This is his way of motivating the waitress to provide with an excellent service. By decreasing the tips, Dick tries to reduce the frequency of undesirable behaviors from the waitress. Punishment involves presenting negative consequences following unwanted behaviors, for instance, serving a drink to the wrong customer.…

The Rolling Stones were a big part of early Rock N’ Roll. They pushed the envelope more than any other band of their time. The Stones experimented a lot with different instruments, and gave their music a distinct sound.…

Fear is scientifically proven to weaken the body physically, create problems when making memories, and stop the brain from processing correctly. Fear is a constant theme throughout the whole book and is shown in many different ways. Three of the ways fear is used in this story is through external fear, internal fear, and pushing past fear.…
While I was searching online about the insane, I found this book called Gracefully Insane was pretty interesting, I could not read it because I didn’t have access to the book, but I read about it and it was about how they have the mental hospital and they don’t have There are no fences, no guards, no locked gates. But still, in the mental hospital is the most luxurious place you could find out. I have only seen the mental hospitals on line while some news comes up or on movies. In the movies they show them that they are all white and they don’t have anything inside them, the only thing that they have is a bed but the bed is attached to the floor. Another thing that I would see in the movies is that they don’t have windows. Maybe the reason…
Although I nearly died, I carry an enduring memory from the trip: the Leap of Faith water slide. At the time, silky-white slides that towered at such angles appalled me. When my turn to ride the harrowing slide arrived, I completely ignored the frivolous rules by sitting straight up on the way down. As I exited the bottom of the slide, my mother and sister sprinted towards me, expressions of fear across their bleached faces. Never did it cross my mind that I put my life in jeopardy, until they reprimanded me for not reading the safety guidelines. “I could have lost you,” my mother exclaimed despite the tears welling up in her…
