Pen Argyl Case Study
The landfill in Pen Argyl used to be family owned and operated. In the early 2000’s Grand Central Service purchased the land and united with Waste Management Corporation to run the facility. Residents of the entire Slate Belt were divided over the new influx of garbage to the area. Since there is no highway directly to the site, trucks frequently blocked back roads and were stuck on steep incline of 512 in Bangor – sometimes for hours and Pen Argyl roads suffer a similar state (Heeschen, 2011) Residents complained of new or worsened health ailments and odors that were excessively bad in the summer months (George, 2014; Heeschen; 2011) Other residents, however, welcomed income in the form of grants from Waste Management that has eased taxes

If you have an allergy, you most likely own an EpiPen. While watching CNBC, the best channel on TV for market news, an interview of Mylan CEO, Heather Bresch was airing where she attempted to justify the extreme price of an EpiPen. As she struggled, my parents, pharmacists of 20+ years, chuckled and said, “It’s all about the money.” Regardless of whether or not you have insurance, an EpiPen is relatively expensive for its nominal manufacturing cost. The cost of an EpiPen for consumers is unjust, and strips the peace of mind of people at risk. If an EpiPen is too expensive, the number of allergy related fatalities will rise frantically.…

The first topic I will choose is number two, which is the married homosexual male couple that is moving from the Netherlands to Australia. I think that the family values within this couple would be very strong, as I think most male couple relationships are. I think that there is a better mutual understanding within the two as well. They both face discrimination on many levels such as legal or even personal/emotional. They think of themselves just like the male/female couple down the road from them; however they are not treated that way. With this being said, they feel that they should have the right to marry, just like male/female couples.…

Landfills are big contributors to the destruction of the environment. They lead to pollution of water and soil, and produce methane which is a greenhouse gas. The effects of landfills also can include animals or even people being killed, roads being damaged, and annoyances like a lot of noise, stenches, and vermin.
