Pele was born on October 23, 1940 in Tres Coracoes, Brazil. When Pele was young he was a poor boy, his talent grew then joined a youth squad. Later his youth coach convinced his parents to let Pele move from his home to try out for the Santos team when he was 15. He scored his first goal with Santos when he was only 16, and played for Santos in Brazil from 1956 to 1974. He has won three world cups, and was FIFA co Player of the century in 1999. He also holds the Guinness World Records for the most career goals. He has also won the Copa LIbertadores twice, and Campeonato Paulista ten times! Some of his memorable moments was when He is known as “Soccer’s National Treasure”, winning lots of trophies. One of Pele’s quotes were “I was born to play football, just like Beethoven was born to write music and Michelangelo was born to paint.” – Pele. Pele was an amazing player, but he never played in European teams. He is known as “Soccer’s National Treasure”, winning lots of trophies. He was named that because he scored 77 goals, and won three World Cups in 1958, 1962, 1970. Pele was also named IFFHS Player of the Century.
Pele had little luck on the 1962 World Cup getting an injury and sitting out. Brazil did win that world cup retaining their championship.in 1966 Brazil were out of the World Cup in only the group stage that’s when Pele decides to quit the international career. He was out of international football for two years, but coming back out of retirement and scoring his 1,000 goal in his career. In The finals, Brazil won the match 4-1. Pele received the Golden Ball for being the best player of the tournament. Pele’s last international match was in July 1971 in Rio de Janeiro. When Pele played the team record was 67 wins 14 draws and 11 losses, shows how good Pele was.

When Pele retired he was still liked and loved by everyone. He is also ranked the best player ever all the time. Multiple footballers said amazing things about Pele like Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the two greatest players playing right now, he said “Pele is the greatest player in football history, and there will only be one Pele.” Jose Mourinho, a two-time UEFA Champions League winning manager, said about Pele, “I think he is football.
