There are many different ways to reflect on the word peace. I always thought of peace as a state of which our world got along, one country with another. I also thought of peace as a state of calmness between people where fighting or disagreement does not exist. I feel that today our country tries to solve issues and problems in a peaceful manner. However, the world will never be at peace since there are so many different opinions between world leaders. Another way of looking at what peace means is an internal peace within oneself. Peace could mean being happy and satisfied with oneself or one’s life. At this point in my life I have inner peace because I am happy with who I am. I feel that I am my own person and I do not follow the crowd. I am at peace with my own decisions in my life. Moreover, I completed my college application process a few weeks ago and am already accepted into the Physician Assistant Program at Daemen College. I have found inner peace knowing that I have a college to attend next year, who has one of the best Physician Assistant Programs. I have worked so hard to send out my applications, letters of recommendation, and essays to eight colleges that it gives me peace knowing I have reached my goal. In addition, I feel that I have peace regarding my relationships with my family and friends. I am blessed to have such a great family and group of friends that I do not bicker with. I find myself usually at peace with the people who are closest to me. I feel that depending on life’s challenges and struggles, it is truly hard to achieve peace at all times. Life’s ups and downs gives us times of inner peace and times of hardships that we have to overcome. We just have to be happy with the times that we do feel peace in our life because it may be

And people should be peaceful and friendly so war doesn’t have to happen. War can bring an end to everyone’s lives if people don’t stop fighting in war. The short story “The Sniper” and the poem “The Man He Killed” show and explain how war can be painful. Also, how war can tear people apart and cause suffering. They show how war is not a fun thing to experience, and if the world wants less people to die then some people suggest that war is not the answer. So, people don’t stop fighting in war, or war will kill us…

An individual who receives peace from doing mediation keeps the mind and body calm and does not allow the mind to think. As the Upanishads have mentioned in the introduction, “It is pure concentration: training the mind to dwell on an interior focus without wandering, until it becomes absorbed in the object of its contemplation” (Upanishads, p. 26). Allowing the mind to concentrate on one particular object for a long amount of times clears the mind from the other things that can cause a distraction. Peace is something that can be a result while doing meditation because of the focus that…

With every amazing and innovative step forward humanity creates, we cause to even more war and strife, humanity can be an incredibly ugly race at times, unfortunately. Whenever we do end up with peace, it never lasts. It is occasionally speculated whether it is even possible for there to be true peace across the world. While of course everyone would like to believe it possible, you sometimes have to wonder after some of the disgusting things we have created. That is why I so desperately wish for a utopia free of war and strife, a place where my family, friends, and even random strangers can be safe and happy…

In Islam, inner peace is also significant to adherents, as Muslims strive to be in submission of Allah. The greeting of peace is a reminder that the purpose in life is to live in full submission to the will of Allah by fulfilling the necessities of the five pillars. Salat, one of the five pillars of faith, is the set of prayers carried out five times a day. When the prayers are done individually, one bonds with Allah, hence creating peace within themselves. It is believed that the peaceful will be satisfied as written in Surah 61:14 “the patient man is the helper of God”. This gives adherents an understanding of the significance of being peaceful by being patient. It is important that inner peace is not forced by the adherent, as it cannot be continuous, “It can only be achieved by understanding” Inner peace can be found by adherents by the contributions of Islam…

World peace isn't a big of part of the world as it should be. Even in society, instead of people talking things out, usually it turns to violence. As for peace around the world, people underestimate the meaning of the word. Peace- 'freedom from disturbance; quiet and tranquility.' And 'freedom from or the cessation of war or violence.' Dr. Martin Luther King, Betty Williams, and Mahatma Gandhi played major roles in pushing for world peace.…

Peace is not just suppressing conflict; it is the creative management of conflict (Myer, 2010). Peace comes when the parties can reconcile difference and reach an accord. Peace is also a low-level violence, when the involved parties seem to be harmonious. Peacemaking brings toxic forces and destructive conflict to a constructive resolution. Peacemaking helps to establish equal power that will help ward off any future conflict. This new equal power will bring an understanding to all parties previously in conflict. Peacemaking can take close fits and convert them into open arms bring foes together in friendship. Peacemaking is making peace by settling disputes between groups, individuals, nations, communities, and even within families. Peacemaking comes from the four C’s of peacemaking contact, communication, cooperation, and conciliation. The obvious definition is that peace is simply “the absence of war,” an idea that traces itself to the work of Thomas Hobbes (Polat 318). For Hobbes, the state was the collective, an “Artificiall Man…of greater stature and strength than the Naturall, for whose protection and defence it was intended” (Hobbes 9). Already Hobbes is intimating that government exists in order to protect human beings (Naturall [sic.] Man) from his fellow creatures. War then, can be defined as the natural state of human beings, and that peace is indeed the absence of war, a state of being impossible without the existence of…

It’s not enough to stand around asking if world peace will ever happen because that won’t do anything. Actions speak louder than any words.
