THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE

“May the odds be always in your favour.”
This is the famous line in the Hunger Games movie 2012. This movie talks about the game of life which is to survive. Hunger Games is an annual ceremony of Panem in which there will be two tributes in every district. This game declares only one winner so the tributes can do anything they want, just like killing their opponents, in order to stay alive.
This year, 2013, Francis Lawrence's The Hunger Games: Catching Fire has been one of the hottest talks in the town.
By winning the previous season, Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark are on the radar of the Capitol, for encouraging a sense of hope among the oppressed people of Panem. Fearing that the two may spark a rebellion, the Capitol decides to clip their wings and move them around like chess pieces. A twist in the games by President Snow, throws them back into the blood thirsty arena. So, he announces a special all-stars edition of the 75th-anniversary Hunger Games Quarter Quell. Former victors of previous games recruited from Panem’s 12 districts will be competed against one another, and Katniss and Peeta must put their lives on the line again.
There were scenes in the two and half hour movie that capture my heart. One of which is when Katniss appeared during a TV interview with her would-be wedding dress. She really looks so elegant and beautiful with it. But this distracts the demoralized population of Panem because her white gown transformed into a flexible dark blue winged symbol of subversion that matches the Mockingjay, the mascot of a growing rebellion in the land. This means the human freedom and human opportunity. Fashion really takes part as part of the revolution which makes President Snow troubled. Dramatic costumes were really one of the highlights throughout the movie.
There was also a scene that viewer can laugh and get irritated when Johanna, one of the twelve

This is the story of the 74th Hunger Games and at the center of it is Katniss Everdeen, a resident of the poorest of all the districts, District 12. During "The Reaping", the "Tribute" selection comes to pass and is where Katniss ultimately volunteers to fight after her sister 's name is drawn from the fish bowl. Her male counterpart is the baker 's son, Peeta Melark. Per the rules, only one or neither of these two combatants will ever return to District 12 alive. "The Hunger Games" are treated as just that, games, they are televised in the Capitol and all 12 Districts as people look on, the members of the Capitol cheering along the way and members of each District looking on in sadness as their children are murdered for the satisfaction of the oppressive government. After the tributes are selected they are taken by train to the Capitol. On the train and in the capitol you can see the apparent culture shock in the face of the 2 district 12 contestants. Coming from the poorest district modeled after the coal mining era, where most people live in absolute poverty Peeta and Katniss are taken back by the surplus of luxury and wealth exhibited by the Capitol.…
