So mother as you know tomorrow is a very big day… (mother gothel is looking at the mirror and stretching her face)
Mother Gothel:
Rapunzel look in the mirror (hugs Rapunzel) You know what I see? I see a strong, confident, beautiful young lady (Rapunzel gets her hopes up) oh, you’re here too! (laughs and push Rapunzel with her elbow) I’m just teasing! stop taking everything so seriously (MG keeps looking herself in the mirror)
Rapunzel:
So mother? (Rapunzel gets closer to MG’s face, very excited) Earlier I was saying tomorrow’s a big day and you didn’t respond, so Im just going to tell you: It’s my birthday! (Rapunzel squeeze MG’s arm)
Mother Gothel:
No, no, no, can’t be! (Moving her from her side) I distinctly remember your birthday was last year
Rapunzel:
That’s the funny thing about birthdays! They’re kind of an annual thing (sighs) Mother, I’m turning 18 and I wanted to ask (sigh) What I really want for (taking her hands to her chest) this birthday… Actually what I wanted for quite a few birthdays (caressing her hair)
Mother Gothel:
Rapunzel please! Stop the mumbling. You know howI feel about the mumbling
Blah, blah, blah, blah (gesturing with her hand). I’s very annoying! Im just teasing, you’re adorable! (pinch Rapunzel’s cheecks) I love you very much dear (walks away)
Rapunzel:
(taking courage, exclaims) I wanna see the floating lights!
Mother Gothel:
(chuckles) what?
Rapunzel:
I was hoping that you would take me to see the floating lights (she shows MG the lights she painted)
Mother Gothel:
(looking at the picture) oh you mean the start!
Rapunzel:
That’s the thing! I’ve charted starts and they’re always constant. But these, they appear every year on my birthday mother, only on my birthday and I cant help but feel like they’re meant for me. I need to see them mother and not just from the window, in person I have to know what they are.
(Music)
Mother Gothel:
You want to go outside? Why, Rapunzel...!
