Paying it forward
To whom this may interest:
I am writing to you today to point out some great feature's that the University of Phoenix offers prospective new students. The three things that turned me onto this school are student resources, career exploration and time management skills training.
The student resources are wonderful tools that UOP have designed to help students be successful in their academic careers. The library that has been designed for us has everything you will need for research papers, and essays. The plagiarism, and grammarly checkers help you cite sources correctly, and with grammar. Making sure all of your writing assignments are grammatically formatted in the correct manner. There are even templates that your instructors help with in making sure your papers are in an APA standard format, (APA stands for American Psychological Association). Every facilitator here uses this format, so you do not have to learn a new writing technique for each course. Not all schools are that incline to do that for their students.
University of Phoenix has an area of career exploration to find out what classes are best for each individual student. It helps show you where your personal strengths are, and that you are choosing the best area of interest for yourself. Some students have changed their minds once they have used this tool. Not realizing that they would be better suited as a web designer than an accountant. I personally chose web designer and computer programming as my area of study. I am eager to follow my dreams knowing that I can now make my dreams a reality.
Another area I would like to point out is time management. If you give yourself the correct time to study and accomplish your class work, then time management will not be a problem for you. Giving yourself adequate time is a must here at the UOP. Taking frequent breaks will help you to not become overwhelmed. Dedicating a quiet study space

On top of that, I plan to take early college classes. Being in AP classes is a true test of one’s perseverance and ability to discipline yourself of being punctual, managing time one’s wisely, and putting nothing but your best in all your work. My sophomore year, I joined AP Human Geography with Mrs. Koanui, and admittedly, I struggled with self-discipline in regards to time management. Thus, resulting in numerous counts of restless nights, along with several other factors concerning social and extracurricular activities, disrupted my focus in the class. Additionally, I turned in countless late works in the third and fourth terms, but taking part in such a rigorous class allowed for me to be a better, more focused, and industrious student in both my current regular and AP classes. Furthermore, I find myself with better time management skills and I currently am able to balance both my studies social interactions, having extra time even. I firmly believe that being a well-rounded student is a key role in success as both an individual and student. I attempt my best to partake in as many clubs as I can, and currently, involved in five other…

Through the last nine weeks this class and my experiences have taught me so much about how to prepare myself for my future not only in my college courses but in my career path too. I started this path not really knowing what to expect but in desperate need for a change in my life. In all reality I didn’t realize how unprepared I actually was. This course imp articular taught me so much! I learned how to set goals for myself so that I could stay motivated and be able to visually see my completion of each goal. You separate your goals into short term and long term so that you can effectively schedule your tasks at hand in the correct order to accomplish all of your goals. When I realized that I had a fear of failing I was also directed in this course to learn how to overcome procrastination. It is easy to be motivated in this learning environment by reading the stories and opinions of the other students here. The more motivated you are the less you procrastinate! Managing my time was definitely one of the hugest struggles for me through this experience so I was thankful that this topic was covered so thoroughly in the past weeks. I actually am starting to enjoy making the calendar for each week that organizes the lives of my daughter and I. Another lesson that goes hand in hand with time management is creating an effective learning and study environment. It’s so important to be able to get the absolute most out of every minute of your time. To do this I’ve found that when studying you need to be able to focus yourself on nothing other than your schoolwork and assignments on hand. With all of the things I have learned by my experiences in the past few weeks I feel more confident about my pursuit in my career goals. I feel this has set me up to succeed. I have been able to learn how to think outside the box and be independent in my decision making process.…

There was so much information to learn in Introduction to University Writing, it is hard for me to say what was the most important to me. Unit 1, Good Writers are Made Not Born refreshed me on the basics of writing with common misspelled words, punctuation basics , verb tenses and plurals (Chambers, 2015). I really needed this refresher on the basics of writing or the consequences might have been disastrous the farther I got into my college career. The next thing that helped me out immensely was when we worked with APA and how we learned to use the “cite” tool on EBSCO, along with using the website www. Bibme.org to make sure we use the right APA format to reference our sources. I also felt that it was very important that my facilitator recommended her students to look for an outside source, such as the Smarthinking lab or www.paperrater.com to review our writings before our final submission.…
