In my case tragedy occurred when I was 8 years old and in the 3th grade, my paw paw had died. He died of alzheimer's. It was hard for my Granny and I. Now when I look at his art and paintings and pictures of him I feel sad, but happy for him, he is with his kids, friends and family. As a result of the death of my paw paw, this experience has encouraged me to become more open minded about how I look at life and death and how when one dies it could be

We will have them do this because in the back on the room, we will have an obstacle course set up for the group members to complete during the activity. We will start by welcoming our members to our group activity called Paw Patrol Ready for Rescue. We will then ask each child to please stay on their blanket we assigned them to. Then, we will begin by introducing ourselves and ask the group members to introduce themselves as well. Along with telling us their names, we will ask them their favorite Paw Patrol character. For our warm up, we will have 3 small, halloween cups with a cotton…

In life we don’t get to select our path. What happens to us is completely out of our hands. We can’t even choose what makes us feel whole again. While happiness isn’t exactly a choice, learning to cope with adversity is a start. In the novel The Things They Carried, some men like Rat Kiley could not deal the emotions war inflicts and drove themselves insane. Likewise, the young girl knew how to handle her emotions and was able to survive the loss of her loved ones. Life isn’t always about your given circumstances, but the way you react to them. Coping is one of the few things we can still…

The cosmos shifted in it’s own beauty ,the colors of the distant galaxies a beacon of light in the hypnotic abyss of deep space. “You reach a point where you’re at the bottom of hell, yet you have your arms crossed and a smile on your face, and you feel you’re the luckiest person on earth. Why? Because at your feet you have a tiny dead fish” (Martel 217). Of course it is normal to feel as if it is better to just give up on life; everyone has been in a position where it is just too painful to keep going. However, the majority of the times these feelings stay as just a feeling, and people never take that extra step to actually give up. People who persevere through their pain understand that life should not be taken for granted. One must prove that he can withstand the difficulties that he might face throughout his life, then he shall be granted to continue his life, “Was there any reward greater that life?” (Martel…

Sometimes, the suffering stops, in others it just keeps on going. As stated by Jimmy Whales, the founder of Wikipedia, “suffering is an individual's basic affective experience of unpleasantness and aversion associated with harm or threat of harm.” In other words, no one likes to suffer, yet, when life makes you, there is nothing you can do about it. In the play, “Death of a Salesman,” by Arthur Miller, Biff Loman, Willy Loman’s son suffers the most from Willy’s illusions and imaginations by having Willy lack parental guidance since the beginning, Willy thinking appearance in the key to success,…

It’s extraordinary to think about how we take so much for granted - another belief we take for granted is that every night the stars will shine. When you wake up in the morning and make plans for the day, you never really contemplate those plans changing entirely in the blink of an eye. I had never thought much about it, personally, until I was faced with Death himself. I don't think anyone really contemplates tragedy until it knocks on their front door. In fact, it doesn’t even knock – it forces itself in and threatens to leave you with nothing but heartache and suffering for the remainder of your miserable life. Traumatic events can occur in numerous ways, at any time in one’s life. Some are lucky enough to get away with them. Unfortunately, I was not one of the lucky.…
