Story: Paul and Silas was on their way to pray and a slave girl who had demons and was able to tell you what can happen in the future kept following them saying these men are the servants of the Most High God , and they have come to tell you how you can be saved. She used to make a lot of money for her masters. She kept walking behind them and they told the demons to come out of her and it came out of her. When her masters saw that she could not get them any more money they were very upset. And they took Paul and Silas into the market place where the Judges were holding court .These men are making trouble in the city and they are teaching against the law. The suggested that Paul and Silas be beaten and throw into prison. So they beat them and threw them into prison.
You and I are in a different prison the prison of sin.
We are born with a want to do what is wrong Roman 3:23 which says” for all have sinned”. Sin is anything we say, do or think that does not please God. Sins are stealing, lying, fighting. The punishment for sin is separation from God.
We are in a spiritual prison but Paul and Silas were in an actual prison.
At midnight Paul and Silas we singing and praying to God and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was an earthquake and all of the doors were opened and all the prisoners were freed.
God showed his love to Paul and Silas and he loves you and me too.
Did you know that God made us and everything in this world? God is holy because he never did anything wrong. He lives in heaven and most of all he loves us John 3; 16 say for God so loved the world.
God loves so the same way he loved Paul and Silas.
The jailer wanted to kill himself because he taught the prisoners had escaped but Paul and Silas stopped him telling him they were
