Patty Schwab's Short Story: When I Meet My Dog
I was walking by myself on Grandview Avenue and found a wallet with $250 cash. No one saw me. The wallet had a lot of credit cards in it. I thought I had better take it to its owner. I looked at the license ID, and the person in the picture was of someone named Patty Schwab. I have never heard of someone named Patty Schwab. I asked a few people walking by if they knew any Patty’s, but no one did.

The owner of a SHOP across the street must have heard me asking about Patty, because he told me that Patty Schwab lived a couple of streets over. I thanked him and stared to skip to Patty’s house. When I arrived at Patty’s street I stopped skipping. The street had a stench that smelt like warm garbage. I went door to door asking for Patty. At the last house I rang the

“My name is Ellie”. “Is it really? My dogs name is Ellie!” I didn’t know what to say to that so I just smiled. “Well I should get going” I said just as I was about to turn around. “Would you like to meet my dog?” Patty called after me. “I really must get going” I started to say when Patty interrupted me, “she’s right inside, I’ll go get her.” I waited outside for about 10 minutes before Patty came out with her dog. At first I thought it was a shaved rat, and that Patty had Alzheimer’s or something, but when she got closer I could see what it real was.

It was a huge genuine pig! I wanted to run, but I was afraid she would release the monster and it would chase me. She set it down for me to pet. “Don’t worry she won’t bite” Patty whispered like the pig was sleeping. I reached out my hand to pet it, and when I touched the multicolored fur it was actually really soft. I squatted so I could see it better. When I sat on the ground the genuine pig licked my nose. I couldn’t believe my eyes, I wanted to take the pig home with me and raise it and teach it tricks and train it to use the

Isabelle could have sworn that the man was drooling over her. She chuckled to herself, knowing that she had picked the perfect weakling to complete her plan. All of the sudden she stopped walking, for she felt something wet rolling down her leg. Isabelle slowly turned around to face whoever had the nerve to do this to her. Just as Isabelle had suspected, an innocent puppy had come over and licked her leg. Isabelle looked down at it, stared, and then screamed! “Whos is this?” Isabelle was stewing! Her hands were shaking all the way down to the tips of her black, matte, flawless fingernails. She bent down picked up the puppy, and yelled once more. “Whoever this beast belongs to please claim it now, or youĺl never see it again!” By now, Isabelle knew that she had everyone's attention, yet still, nobody said a word. For the last time, Isabelle shouted to the crowd as they stared at her in horror. “Fine then, say goodbye to the mangy mutt!” Everybody thought that Isabelle was going to kill the puppy, but to their surprise, she simply walked away with it. I saw some very, very little puppys, I really wanted them all. The one that we chose, was hiding under the crib. We named him Poncho after the parent's name.…

Rodger and Petey came stumbling through the door pushing me aside and quickly slamming the door shut. “Help us!” screamed Petey. “With what?” I replied. Petey seemed winded for some reason, he was trying to get every ounce of oxygen that he possibly could. When he finally mustered up enough air to speak, the floor began to shake, the ceiling fan started rocking back and forth, the fire in the fireplace was stopped in its place, and the T.V dove into the ground. Rodger began to sweat and scurried under the dinner table. Still unaware of what was happening I yelled, “What is going on?” The house repeated its former action and shook again, this time the pots and pans crashed into the floorboards. Getting nothing from the other pigs I rushed to the window to see what was happening. As I peered out of the window I saw the villainous wolf.…
