Patch Adams Essay - Topic #1

A moment of laughter can make a difference in one life. Patch Admas made is patient’s laughs and lifts their spirit up and made them feel like the still have chance of survive. Patch Adams also said that physicians and clowns consider humor and friendship part of the cure in any healing process. When a doctor/nurse develop that friendship with their patients there will always be laughter between the two when they meet. When kids are little and are afraid to go to the dentist some dentist create a fun atmosphere so that that child can field at home all at a game and they will feel happy and that scary feelings will go away and they will be calm. Being angry all the time is not even healthy for your body it can get you stress out and raised your blood pressure up. When you don’t have a good spirit in some sickness you has less chance of surviving. In most diseases like for example cancer patients if they don’t have that laughter that they get when their family or friends are around the cant survived. As a doctor or nurse when their family, friends, or love ones are not around it should be your responsibility to make they feel like they are. As a doctor or nurse your job shouldn’t be strictly a job that you are doing for money take it as your way of living and treat your patients as your own family. Embraced your patients, always make them feel at home let them be comfortable. Knowing what medicine to give your patients doesn’t make you a good doctor but the way you treat them will always make them come back to you. These are some of the reason people have family doctor because they are used to that doctor and know that the doctor will treat their family the same way he treats them. People love when people listen to them so when a doctor listens to them it makes them feel like they care.

BURRELL Patch Adams Patch Adams real name is Hunter Adams. A man who was in the same mental institution Patch Adams was in had given him the nickname. He named him Patch Adams because he patched up his cup because it was leaking. The understanding that I got from the question “how many fingers do you see?” was not to see what others see. Let the focus go, you do not want to see the problem, you want to see the solution. These are some of his good customer service skills. Patch Adams treats his…

Patch Adams Patch Adams is very interesting to watch. From the beginning of the story, there is the willingness of the viewers to watch the movie till the end. It is simple but not on its meaning. It does not only talk about the life of patch, the doctors, patients, students but also the nurses who are always in the side of the patients. Its focus is more on personality. Meeting people that will pull you down then lift you up and changing their views is one of your amazing deeds and help. And…

I truly enjoyed seeing Patch Adams again. I have always loved this movie and I think it was a wonderful choice to use as an example for professionalism and patient care. In my opinion I feel that Patch became a role model by showing his classmates that his ways actually did work and had wonderful results. Even if they were against him and his ways they all eventually saw that his ways were very wonderful and productive. I think Patch is professional as a physician in his own way. His way of professionalism…
