Pat Tillman A Hero
“A hero is no braver than an ordinary man, but he is braver five minutes longer.” Ralph Wando Emerson quoted. What he means by that is that, a hero is different from a regular person. He is stronger and braver for a longer time than an ordinary person is. A hero can mean many different things to a person. But to me a hero is someone that i think would risk their lives, someone who isn't selfish and puts others in front of them, instead of themselves. That is what i think of what a hero is to me. Heros are just like us, but would do anything to help others as long as they’re okay. An example of a hero is Pat Tillman. I consider him a hero because he was living the life. He was in the NFL and played for the Arizona Cardinals. Until, he left

Many peoples' ideas differ about the subject of Pat Tillman. Pat Tillman, 27, was a member of the 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment based at Fort Lewis, Washington. Tillman was a great football player prior to joining the army. He turned down a three year, 3.6 million dollar contract for the Arizona Cardinals in 2002, to join the army in the wake of the September 11th attacks. Pat Tillman was a skilled football player who was known for his smart, hard-hitting ability, while being one of the smallest on the team. Pat Tillman was shipped out preceding his army training to become a Ranger. He and his brother Kevin were shipped to Iraq in 2003 to help in "Operation Iraqi Freedom." Pat and his brother were later sent to Afghanistan to assist in the hunt for Osama Bin Laden. On April 22, 2004, the 75th Ranger platoon was supposedly ambushed on a road outside of Sparah. Many people dream of playing a professional sport, but not many people would give up that dream to go into the military. Pat Tillman was a football star from Arizona State University and later the Arizona Cardinals. In 2002, Tillman put his NFL career on hold and enlisted in the U.S. Army to become an ranger along with his brother. With this choice, Tillman received a lot of attention from the media, but was humble and did not want to make it a big story. When his coach, Dave McGinnis, from the Arizona Cardinals was asked he answered, “Pat knew his purpose in life. Tillman proudly walked away from a career in football to a greater calling” ("Pat Tillman Foundation”). Through his selflessness, determination, and humbleness, Pat Tillman went from being a NFL star to a respected Army Ranger to finally after his tragic death one of the America’s greatest heroes.…

What is a hero? No words can truly define what a hero is. A hero can be many different things to different people. Webster defines a hero as "a mythological or legendary figure often of divine descent endowed with great strength or ability." It is known to this day and age that no such legendary creature exists. This hero can be a family member, friend, or a stranger, pretty much anyone. It just depends on how you think about them compared to the definition of a hero. A hero could be a celebrity, mentor, or role model, but what’s the difference? A celebrity could be a hero because there famous and you have looked up to them since you were young. What does being a hero mean to you? Well, to me, being a hero means being courageous and giving acts of achievements and accomplishments to the community. These people give back without realizing that they are giving back for good. Did you know that anyone can be a hero? Even you. But a hero doesn't just do something heroic and courageous just so they can be known as one. They are built up of selflessness and consideration and they put others before themselves.…

The first thing I would like to say is the definition of a hero "Someone who behaves selflessly, usually at considerable personal risk and sacrifice, to comfort or empower others and to make the world a better place." The reason that I am writing about this is that it has been brought to my attention about military personnel, firefighters, and police officers being considered hero’s.…

An example of an everyday hero is a firefighter. Firefighters are very courageous, they risk their lives every day in order to keep us safe. Another hero is a teacher, they come to their job everyday just to insure that we receive an education, which shows a sign of loyalty. I would also consider police officers and people who serve in the military to be heroes because they are fearless and stay faithful to their country. I believe that heroes are made, not born because you never know what life is going to throw at you and how you will react to it.…
