Participation Trophiess Should Not Be Allowed In Schools
\For decades, participation trophies have been handed out like candy, regardless of how well a child has done in his competition. Lately, this has been a hotspot for debate. I believe that this practice shields children from the reality that they are not the best at everything, and do not always win. However, supporters of participation trophies argue that these trophies help build self esteem, and that they can be reminders of fond childhood memories.
\Participation trophies can help undermine child's work ethic and character. Children can become dependent on this form of praise, and not develop the understanding that with every reward comes hard work. The opposite goes for younger and poorer individuals, who are more likely to believe in our current system of participation trophies. Higher paid and older individuals are supposedly wiser, yes?
