Parkland Hospital Case Study
Parkland hospital is Dallas County’s public hospital and the primary teaching hospital for UT Southwestern Medical Center. It has been ranked as one of “America’s Best Hospitals” for 17 consecutive years by U.S. News & World Report. It is an imposing 2.5 million square feet, 17- story facility which opened the doors to its new facility in 2015.
David Lopez is the chief operating officer (COO) for the Parkland organization, a position he has held since 2016. His academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration. He previously served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and COO for the Harris Health System in Houston.
