Paramedic Experience Reflection
I really enjoyed this year placement more than last year because I have learned more about paramedic practice and pathophysiology as well as mental health,
I have been able to get a wonderful experience during placements especially when I worked with Intensive Care Paramedic because they have more experience and knowledge.
It’s so exciting and challenging to work as a paramedic, so when it is time to attend a job you start thinking, planning, implementing and evaluating of the patient care and it all depends on he knowledge and experience you have got during the study and practice.
Working, as a paramedic is a major task, you have to be confident and calm through the different situations that you might face during your job as you will work

In addition, to a staff recognition program, I created a paraprofessional in training presentation. The goal of the presentation was to train future paraprofessionals in their role and expectations as it relates to school policy. The presentation helped teachers provide less training to paraprofessionals during instructional time. They were better able to focus on teaching and achieving student goals. New paraprofessionals were more confident when stepping into the classroom. I take pleasure in being able to help teachers and paraprofessionals work together to meet the needs of the students.…

During training,I learned patient assessment, oxygen administration, bandaging, splinting and spinal immobilization. Due to different state certification processes, I was unable to use my training once returning to college in New York, but the knowledge I acquired was priceless. For my job shadow I attend Geisinger Hospital. During my job shadow I got to experience and witness some very interesting and amazing things. When we first got there we started at life flight and we got to hear from a life flight nurse and a life flight doctor. They then allowed us to look through the helicopters and ask any questions about anything we saw. I talked to the doctor for awhile about pediatric flights and how they transport littler kids. They then allowed us to go into the newest helicopter outside. After touring the helicopters we went into this older building where they use to have a nursing school, but now its just for presentations. We walked in to meet a lady named, Rebecca Winters BSN,RN,CNOR, Clinical Nurse Educator for the operating room. She told us about OR…

When I call to make an appointment at the Doctor’s office, I expect them to answer the phone very nice and respectfully. As a medical assistant, you should always have your patient’s become first they should never be last. Upon talking to the phone with the doctor’s office, I think they should know the knowledge of the office and the producers. I do think that each MA has their own set of skills and qualities. As a MA we should always put others first as I said earlier and also we should treat them how we want to be treated. If a patient gets rude and disrespectful with us on the phone we should just keep a positive attitude until the call is finished. We as a MA should always be attentive to the person, we should ask what works best for…

Deaths is a part of life. Most deaths that occur in the pre hospital environment will be beyond the ability of the EMS provider to prevent. Dealing with death is one of the most profound challenges an EMS provider will face (Soreff, & Cadigan 2003). Disclosing the bad news is difficult and most professionals who have the task of delivering bad news do it badly there is no training manuals for these circumstances and every situation is different. The people who broke the news included doctors, nurses and the police. Police were thought to be the most sympathetic; doctors and nurses the least (Finlay, 1991).…
