-Parabens can be found in shampoos, personal care products commercial moisturizers, shaving gels, cleansing gels, personal lubricants, topical pharmaceuticals, sunscreen and toothpaste. They are also used as food additives in some products. Basically, a huge percentage of the products you buy for everyday use contain some form of paraben, so it can be difficult to find products that do not use them.

-blackberries, raspberries, cucumbers, carrots and olives produce parabens to protect themselves against bacterial attacks -unwise to switch to other, newer, synthetic or untested preservatives, just to say you don't use parabens.

Parabens are a family of alkyl esters of para-hydroxybenzoic acid that differ by various chemical substitutions.

Up to 60 percent of whatever we place on our skin goes into our blood stream. Yet companies are blatantly adding ingredients to our personal care products and our food deemed questionably safe. These include parabens, synthetic preservatives suspected to cause problems like weight gain, skin aging and certain types of cancer.
