But Mr. President! Hindus Still continued their fake pride of numerous strength in the minds. So, their hearts did not accept Pakistan as prospering and progressing. In short, they did their best and attacked Pakistan in 1965 with their full might in the darkness of midnight. Hence, Pakistan was far scattered but its people were one---the Muslims. Fort of Islam proved a fortress for the enemy and one each and every front whether land, air or sea; the fate of Indians were defeat, cowardice and humiliation. They forget to learn that Pakistan Army were the heirs of Khalid bin walleed, Sultan Salahuddin Ayubi,Muhammad bin Qasim, Ghuri and Tipu.
Taighoon ke say main ham pul kar jawan hoiy hain
Khanjer hilal ka hay Qumi nishan hamara Respected audience! Let's aim together. We shall work hard, excel in all fields of learning and warfare. Defend our country till death. We shall made the flag of Pakistan up stand in the comity of nations. September 6, is a day of national pride. This is the day when we pay homage to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives in defending their homeland from the enemy. Years later, once again, we are engaged in a war and our soldiers are sacrificing their lives to protect our homeland from terrorists.
But where do we stand as a nation today? Divided, fragmented. When the army can integrate people from different regions into a well-knit family, why have our politicians failed to do the same at the national level? No matter how strong our defence is, we can never defeat the enemy if we are divided. We tried to change ballot results into bullets and lost half the country. No lessons were learnt.
We must learn to stand on our own feet. Allama Iqbal remarked: momin hai tou bay-tegh bhi larta hai sipahi. We saw glimpses of this optimism in Quaid-e Azam who imbued the whole nation with hope and never gave up till he wrested this land from the enemy.
We are passing through difficult times. Any act of terrorism is attributed to Muslims. Let us once again demonstrate the same solidarity shown by our people 1965 to prove that when it comes to preserving our independence, we can stand like a rock no matter what the cost. We should all shun our internal differences and at least be united on basic national issues, for it is feared that the present confrontation, if allowed to linger, will have dire consequences. Can we revive the spirit of the great day of September 6, 1965 when the entire nation was one entity?

Mr President, my worthy classfellows and respected audience! Today, the topic of my debate is “Defence day of Pakistan”. Today is the 6th of September . We proudly celebrate it as defence day of our sweet motherland. The entire world knows that in 1965, how the fearless, courageous and daring tigers of Pakistan Army crushed the planned, organized and secret aggression of the enemy . They reduced all the pride and boldness of the large Indian Army to ashes. In the words of Iqbal:
Dusht to dashat durya bhi na chchoray hum nay behray zulmat main dora diay ghoray hum nay
Brothers and Sisters, Pakistan was not had as a charity. It was not made to secure land. And it not made in a day. Pakistan is a result of Islamic ideology . Its foundation lies in the two-Nation theory of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, in the efforts of Ali Brethren, in the bold step of Molvi Faza ul Haq, in the dreams of Allamh Muhammad Iqbal and finally in the undefeatable leader ship of Quaide Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Mr President! During the PAKISTAN Movement for the liberation of Indian Muslims, Quaide Azam Made it clear that we —-Muslims are not a minority; we are a nation according to the definition of the word ” Nation”. Our religion, our culture, our history, our ways of thinking —-even every walk of life is not only differ with those of the Hindus but their heroes are also our enemies and our heroes are considered enemies by them. When we can not even eat together —-what about one country. so, the Quaed warned, “we are decided, determined and ready to have a country of our own., We do not want to get it for the sake of securing a piece of land.Rather we wish to secure a laboratory, where we would be independent and implement our ideology of Islam”.
Dear fellows, For accomplishing this ideal, the Muslim nation merged into one unit under the flag of Muslim League and the leadership of Quaide Azam. They decided to do or die but to have Pakistan. To this end, our forefathers laid their lives, sacrificed their sleep, spent all their riches—–forgot everything but Pakistan. By the Grace of God, Al-Mighty, Pakistan came into being on the 14th of August, 1947.
But Mr. President! Hindus Still continued their fake pride of numerous strength in the minds. So, their hearts did not accept Pakistan as prospering and progressing. In short, they did their best and attacked Pakistan in 1965 with their full might in the darkness of midnight. Hence, Pakistan was far scattered but its people were one—the Muslims.

One inevitable impact the division had on the people was perhaps one of the greatest refugee crises and migration in history. Over 10 million people moved between India and Pakistan. For the most part, the Hindus generally moved into the Indian subcontinent while the Muslims, who feared Hindu domination, migrated to East and West Pakistan. In Document 8 it shows that there were around 8.6 million Muslim refugees that migrated out of India into either East or West Pakistan. In addition to this extraordinary refugee crises, another effect the division of India had was border tensions. The tensions between the borders of India and Pakistan resulted in India being at the “receiving end of Pakistan’s heavy shelling” and “heavy bombing” (Document 9b). This shows that not only was there a large scale migration crises, there was also several attacks and possibly deaths and casualties from bombs. Also, in document 9a it that states that another effect of the division was that there were “two armed conflicts (in 1965 and 1999) and numerous clashes between Indian and Pakistani forces”. This highlights the various facets of the tensions and problems the division of India had on the Hindus and Muslims. It is inevitable that the division of the region greatly affected the people who lived there by causing the largest migration in human history, armed conflicts, and…

Patriot Day is on September 11. It was designated in memory of the 2,977 people killed that day in 2001. Most Americans refer to that day as "Nine-Eleven”. Severely divided countries pose a particular problem when it comes to securing democratic stability. Such countries are characterised by deep cleavages representing ‘sociocultural and ascriptive traits, such as race, ethnicity, language, religion or region’ (Bogaards, 2003, p. 59). Other forms of social division, which focus on wider issues, do not diffuse the strength of these cleavages, making them particularly entrenched. Democracy is ‘about access to power’, determining who gets power and what benefits this entails (Horowitz, 1993, p. 18). The problem in a divided society is that access to power is often determined by ethnic identity, with politicians ‘playing the race card at election time’ to mobilise the votes of their own group (Reilly, 2002, p. 156). This often leads to significant groups being marginalised and permanently denied access to power, as voting patterns are predetermined by group identity. Furthermore, political appeals to one’s own group leads to the demise of moderate politics, with the ‘centrifugal’ and escalating force of group appeals leading to the political centre being ‘pulled apart’ (p. ibid).…

The partition of India in August 1947 was a highly controversial event and has led to widespread speculation regarding its causes and consequences. Orthodox historians credit the creation of Pakistan to Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the leader of the All India Muslim League, and his determination to create a sovereign state for Indian Muslims. However, this view has been contested by a number of historians, who place responsibility for the partition on the political manoeuvring of the Congress and the constitutional reforms of the British Raj. Existing communal tensions and Hindu-Muslim differences have also been blamed for the split. Revisionist historians question whether Jinnah even wanted partition and have suggested that the 'Pakistan' demand was simply a bargaining counter to gain recognition for Muslims. I am going to analyse each interpretation of the event and question the true causes for partition.…

Ever since the great country of Pakistan was formed, it has been going through its ideological and identity crisis which dented the national pride to a great extent. Agreed, that the vision of the forefathers was to create a separate land for the Muslims of the Sub Continent. The Quaid was unequivocally clear about his vision. He saw a land which was for the Muslims, yet a land which followed the great tradition of Muslims living in harmony with their Non Muslim brethren. A common thread binding them, called the nation of Pakistan.…

My dear fellows I speak as a son of suffering women, I speak for those whose land is being laid waste, whose homes are being destroyed, whose culture is being subverted. I speak for the poor of my country who are paying the double price of smashed hopes at home and death and corruption in Pakistan. I speak as a citizen of the world, for the world as it stands at the path we have taken. I speak as a Pakistani to the leaders of my own nation. The initiative in this war is ours. The great initiative to stop the suffering must be ours. The sufferings of unemployment, poverty, rising inflation, crime and terrorism has become the part and parcel of life of Pakistanis, almost everywhere. Youth is confused and scared about their glorious future; people are committing suicide due to rising inflation. Government seems to be helpless in providing relief to the people.…

India has often been described as one state with two different nations trapped within it. There is a Hindu India and a Muslim India, both constantly clashing with one another due to lifestyle differences. The constant blood shed caused poet Muhammad Iqbal to derive the idea of a seperate “North-West India Muslim state”(Iqbal, speech Dec 3rd). This separate state, which would be Pakistan, Iqbal urged in his speech would be the only plausible solution to stop the violence between Hindu Nationalist and Mulsim, and would gain equality for Muslims in a land that was there can have equality. Iqbal creats an argument based off the idea that Islam was immemorial and natural therefor was an identity. “Islam itself is a destiny and will not suffer a Destiny” (Iqbal). This statement demonstrates that Islam has a fate of its own that has been and will be…

It’s just been 64 years, not even a century since the birth of this nation, and it is already going through the worst stages of its existence. Having a national anthem and a flag to represent our country on the face of this earth….is that enough for us to be considered independent? Is that enough for YOU to think you belong to an independent country? Painful, as it sounds, but it’s true that Pakistan is NOT an independent state! It is buried deep under the heavy loans it has been taking over the years and proudly continues to take… the loans, I doubt, it can ever pay back. Every child that’s born in Pakistan each day, the one who doesn’t even know what money is, already has a fraction of debt on his head just because he/she is…
