Description
Magyar Telekom is the largest telecommunications service provider in Hungary. The company offers a wide range of fixed-line telephony, data transmission, value-added systems integration and IT services, furthermore the company is Hungary’s leading mobile telecommunications and Internet provider. Magyar Telekom was founded in 1991
(under the name of Matáv), and it was privatised in 1993. The shares of the company are listed in the Budapest and New York Stock Exchange. The company operates under the name of Magyar Telekom since 2006.

    It is no doubt that MATAV is the most competitive company in Hungary telecommunication market. We are dominant currently in all telecommunication services. However, besides internet services, both Mobile and fixed line penetration are high and there is no more room to improve them. Although MATAV is dominant in fixed line business, it is declining due to mobile substitution. Moreover, the competition is extremely intensive.
