P6- Describe how political, legal and social factors are impacting upon the business activities of the selected organisations and their stakeholders
Political factors- The government are hugely in favour of an organisation such as fitness first. This is because they are a private limited company and the government is affirmative of this because a company such as fitness first pay tax towards the government and because of this the government will want their business to be successful because the better they do the more tax the government will receive. Fitness First being a busy centre will provide job opportunities for those who are unemployed and because of this the government are supportive towards fitness first because this will be beneficial for them. The more people who are provided with a job then there will be less employment in the UK. On the other hand if the government were to change during the future once they calculate the profits they would own all companies themselves and this would negatively impact on fitness first because they would be imposed to sell their company to the government.
Legal factors- Within fitness first there are a numerical legal factors that impact hugely on fitness first. All businesses even fitness first have to follow the specific laws that are there for different things throughout the organisation. The health and safety act is one of the main laws which protect the employees and this act ensures the provision for securing the health, safety and welfare at the workplace of the individual for protecting others against risk which are related to health/safety. As employees they would want to be treated with fairness and there is also a minimum wage law that fitness first have no option but to follow. The human resources who have the responsibility to pay employees must abide by the minimum wage which is set by the government.
