Case Analysis: Oxford Plastics Company
Oxford plastics are a company that manufacture in high-grade plastics for different variety of products. The company plays an important role to its local economy and offers well-paying factory jobs. The Oxford Company wants to expand a major addition to the factory to be competitive in the fast-paced global market for plastics. But in order to build the new addition to the company they must be in full compliance with the U.S. Environmental Agency regulations. The major problem for the company was industrial zoning boundary and the destruction of several 500 year old beech trees causing an environmental outrage with certain interest groups on the additional 25 acres of land that the company needs. Sam Henderson sat down to identify which people and organizations would have an interest on the project. The result wears like 50/50 because the Oxford Plastics and State government are it because it would create more jobs. The City government and the public are against it because of environment issues. Henderson just wants Oxford to have a good relationship with the people and organizations but at the end Oxford will be more affected on the results of the final decision. Overall, Oxford should re build around these zones that will not be impacted by the new addition.
