own version of what happend
Long, long time ago, there was once a giant who lived in the plains. He wandered around, searching for food, when he heard a voice. “Hello?”
It caught his attention. This voice wasn’t like any of the giants’ voices–loud, deep, and husky. This was different. The voice was like music to his ears. He looked around; trying to find where the voice came from, but no one seemed to be around.
“Hello?”
He looked up. It was a female’s voice. It seemed to come from the skies–the kingdom of the gods. Gods do not just talk with the ones below. How come a goddess could just talk to him, a lowly giant? Should he answer it? Wouldn’t it be offensive to the gods? But curiosity got into him and when he opened his mouth to talk, nothing came out and he ended up coughing. The goddess, laughed. He was mesmerised. How could someone have a voice as beautiful as that?
From there they started talking for a long time, and every day the giant would go to the same place, hoping to get a chance to talk to the goddess. Each day he would come to talk to her, the urge to come close and see her gets stronger. He told her this, and she said that it is forbidden. Even just by talking to him is already forbidden. The giant realised that he could no longer be afraid of death when his only fear is losing this woman–a goddess he knows he could not reach.
Still he pursued, no longer caring of getting punished. He began to build a big tower made of land and rocks that would be high enough to reach the skies. The goddess tried to stop him, but he didn’t listen. She did not have a choice but to protect him. She took small portions of the clouds and surrounded it around the tower and the giant, hiding him from the gods and the rest of the giants. But no secret is hidden forever. The gods sensed that something is wrong, and finally discovered their secret. The goddess was captured and held in prison. Because of this, the clouds that kept the giant safe vanished. Instead of giving up, the desire to save

i have a giant painOf Woods and Fields The great Arcadian god Pan is probably one of the most well known gods in Greek history. Everyone has heard of Pan, and would more than likely recognize him if they saw him today. His unmistakable physique distinguished him from all other gods: “He had the feet of a goat, two horns on his forehead, loved noise and dancing, was hairy, dirty, lusty, ugly, and disheveled; yet, in his own way he was a charming creature” (Carpenter and Gula, 103). He was considered a lesser divinity of Earth, the god of woods and fields. Pan was very of the people, and was particularly fond of shepherds. He was considered their special protector; in a general sense he was a divinity of the country, of sheep, goats, and other grazing flocks, of forests, valleys, hills, and glens (Carpenter and Gula,…

Francois Rabelais wrote, Gargantua in the 16th century as a satirical short story depicting a giant named Gargantua and his transition from his barbaric ways to civilized humanistic way of living. The story takes place during the time of transition from the Medieval Era to the Renaissance. It went from a time of scholasticism and monasticism to a time of humanism and secularism. The Renaissance gave the modern world secularism, humanism and individualism. Throughout the story we see Gargantua evolve into a respectable and honorable man and Frere Jean as a monk who defies all previous views of who and what a monk is. The story of Gargantua illustrates the transition from scholasticism to humanism and in a satirical account through the lives of Gargantua and Frere Jean’s.…

"Hercules!" sang a deep voice. "Hercules arise!" Hercules, not known what had woken him, arose from his nap and turned to drink from the stream he lay beside and was surprised to see the image of Poseidon, the mighty god of the waters, in the rapids of the brook. "Poseidon, what brings you here?" "I know why you are here, Hercules," said Poseidon. "You are in search of the Lochness monster, who dwells in the depths of these lakes. He cannot be injured in the waters, but can be easily defeated on land. You will not find him alone, Hercules. You will need my help, and the help of this kilt. This kilt has fins on it, and will allow you to search the depths for years, with out coming up for air. You will swim faster, and be able to use air slower, but the task is still in your hands." With that, Poseidon disappeared.…
