PHARMACEUTICAL SOCIETY OF UGANDA

The Pharmaceutical Soceity of Uganda was founded in 1960 and was established by an act of parliament through the Pharmacy and drugs act,Cap 280 of the laws of
Uganda as the Professional body for Pharmacists. The governing body of the society is the council of the Pharmaceutical society of Uganda whose mandate is to ensure the highest practicable standards In the practice of Pharmacy in Uganda. In executing this mandate, the Council annually licenses the Pharmacists to supervise the operations of all Pharmaceutical outlets and drug manufacturing facilities. This is to ensure that the medicines sold ormanufactured have gone through the hands of competent profesionals and are therefore suitable for human and veterinary use. As provided in section 21 of the Pharmacy and drugs act, the Council of the Pharmaceutical society hereby publishes the list of approved Pharmacists and the Pharmaceutical outlets that they supervise in 2012.
