Another example of similarities between both movies is the genre and overall plot. The genre of the movies are comedy, romance and tragedy, which matches the original. The plot of both the movies are that two families have a feud against each other, later two of the children from each house fall in love. There are actually a lot of similarities in the movie and the book but most are very small and not easily noticed. What you have to understand when looking at a movie or reading a book based on the same story is that it is basically impossible to have everything due to the facts that they are portrayed by two…

The second comparable scene is when the Socs and Greasers line up to fight each other. They are smack-talking back and forth with each other. Two similarities between the book and the movie could be the sound of the greasers and socs talking back and forth, and it both showed or described how the greasers and socs were lining up. Two differences between the book and the movie could be instead of Paul swinging at Darry, some random Soc swung at Ponyboy, and the empty lot looked different than what I had imagined when the book described it.The book was more effective during this scene because It gave more detail about how the lot looked like and it described the feeling better than the movie…

I chose the quote,"You cannot open a book without learning something" by the Irish proverb because I can relate it to my favorite book,"The Outsiders" by S.E. Hinton which taught me lots of stuff that I did not know about. The book is about a 14 year old named Ponyboy and his two brothers Darry who is 16 and Sodapop who is 20 years old. Darry is in charge of them due to both of his parents dying in a car accident. They are all greasers in a gang and often watch over Johnny ,who is another greaser, because his alcoholic parents abuse him. They also have a gang rivalry with the Socs who are rich and pick on the poor.…

On 1967, The Outsiders book was published by S.E. Hinton. Also in 1983, The Outsiders movie was directed by Francis Ford Coppola. The book is fiction; specifically young adult fiction. The book and the movie were very different from one another. The book was a lot better in giving more details and getting to know what Ponyboy is thinking. It was easier to be able to comprehend what was going on and why the characters were making those decisions.…

The title of this book relates to the story, because in the book, Ponyboy and Johnny are "outsiders." They can be thought of as Outsiders because they are labeled Greasers although they do not act like hoodlums, like the rest of the Greasers. They are thought of as Greasers just because they live on the East Side of town, and because they slick back their hair. But Ponyboy and Johnny are different then all of the other Greasers because they show their emotions, and are sensitive.…

How can complete opposites of people also have many similarities? How can a law breaking guy have anything similar to a law-abiding person? In most stories this is highly unlikely. However, in S.E Hinton’s novel The Outsiders, two characters have these differences. Dally Winston and Johnny Cade are similar because they both have abusive parents and they both care about one another. On the other hand they have opposite personalities and have different opinions on the law. Therefore, Dally Winston and Johnny Cade are very similar yet completely different.…

    S. E. Hinton wrote ‘The Outsiders’ when he was sixteen years old. She did not just write the book, but she really felt it and lived it. While the author was writing this book she looked back and realized how important it was to have another life. One day, her friend was walking home and a couple of “nice” kids jumped out of a car and just started to beat her friend up because they did not like that he was a greaser. Hinton went home and started writing the story of the boy who was beaten up by rich kids while he was walking home. This is the beginning of ‘ The Outsiders.’…
