29 April 2014 A national telephone survey finds that 62% of Americans with children of elementary or secondary school age would feel safer if their school had armed guards (Pavlich). Many people (parents) believe that if schools had armed guards on campus they could stop the next mass murder at schools. These are some of the reasons that the government and school boards should allow armed guards on school campuses. Parents and school boards in the State of Louisiana think that teachers carrying guns or having armed guards “is not the right approach” (Resmovits), the code does not …show more content…
“The NRA’s attempts to prey on America’s fears, saturate our schools with more guns and turn them into armed forces” (Finn). Armed guards can keep the people that are not authorized to enter schools until they are searched, patted down, and metal detected for weapons and drugs. The United States is the most well armed nation in the world, and the reason why Americans own so many guns in their homes and carry so many guns is because of the Second Amendment. There forth, why not give the citizens of the United States their rights to contain guns on them for armed guards on school campuses throughout America. The majority of the United States wants armed guards and armed forces on campus after all the school attacks. “If we want to save lives, armed defenses in schools are the immediate and best choice” (Pavlich). In order to stop our next attacker schools need armed guards, more security cameras, and checks of every school visitor that are entering or would enter school campuses. The armed guards that would be put or hired to guard schools, and the children attending, would attend and get extensive concealed carry and emergency situation trainings regularly (Pavlich). Schools would be a lot safer for the kids if they would contain and hire trained armed guards, which have all the right trainings, on school

    Arming teachers is a very tough topic to talk about. The first documentary that we watched showed a school that teaches students how to react in a shooting situation, and also arms teachers. I believe that this school is going a little overboard with arming the teachers. The program to train children in self defense is a good idea though.     There has been a good amount of times that someone was coming to a school with a gun. For what reason most likely to shoot up the school. Some schools have school resource officers, for all kinds of reasons but this is one. There has been a few reports where the school was saved by one person inside that had a gun.
