Outline How to French Braid Hair
Courtney Keene

After hearing my speech the audience will be able to French braid hair. I. Introduction A. Attention Getter: So I have a friend who has this wild crazy hair. It’s all over the place and really curly. Every time she would have it down within a few hours it would be curly and in her face again. So to keep her bangs and hair out of her face she would always have me French braid them. B. Preview: So today I am going to show you how to French braid hair. II. Discussion A. First step: Let’s begin with step one. You’re going to want to brush out the hair so there are no knots in it. Then you’re going to want to section the hair off into the pieces you’re going to want to be braiding. B. Second step: Now once you have the hair into sections, you are going to begin braiding. You will start off like a normal braid and section it into three pieces bringing the one farthest to the right over the piece in the middle then take the hair to left and bring it over the piece in the middle. C. Third step: Now here is where it gets somewhat tricky. As your bringing the hair from the right to the middle you’re going to want to pick up a section from the right side of the head and add it to the strand that you are putting over the section of hair in the middle. You are going to do the same to the left side. D. Fourth step: You are going to want to continue braiding like this down the whole head until you reach the bottom of the head and have no more hair left. Then to keep the braid in place you can spray with hairspray. (optional) III. Conclusion 1. Review: Just to review I am going to go over these steps one more time.
1. Brush out the hair
2. Separate hair into 3 pieces
3. Cross right section over middle (same with left side)
4. Tie with a hair tie
5. Spray with hairspray (optional) A. Memorable Statement: I’d like to leave you with this thought.

To begin, the first techniques is foil lightning. This is the process of using foils to separate strands of hair which will be lightened, from the strands of hair that will stay its natural color. The tool used for foil highlighting is a pin tail comb. The hair would be divided into 5 sections and using the pin tail comb you can make subsections by weaving or slicing the hair. Weaving is when you go over and under a thin section of hair. Slicing is when you go straight through the hair with a pin tail comb. (Make sure the section is thin for both weaving and slicing). After taking the section you take a foil and fold it to protect the hair and surrounding areas. Make sure the entire strand is covered with…
