The Black Eyed Peas are an American hip hop group that formed in East Los Angeles, California in 1995. The group is composed of vocalist and multi-instrumentalist and vocalists, Taboo, and Fergie (Wikipedia, 2010). continue to be major topics in organisational behaviour because it is assumed that they exert important influence on action and behaviour of people who are like and idolised them. This assignment examined the background of Black Eyed Peas and study of their critical outstanding qualities in various sectors that can relates to Organizational Behavior. The Black Eyed Peas have sold over 29 million albums worldwide, the majority of which has occurred since the introduction of Fergie as the lead singer in 2003. Previous to that the band had little success though were well regarded as an independent hip hop band (Anna Phillips, 2009). Therefore, internet researched from various websites has been done based on viewer hits. In these regards, there are few factors of Black Eyed Peas critical outstanding qualities that we can relate to Organizational Behavior.

The Cambridge Advanced Learner’s Dictionary, 2nd Edition, Cambridge University Press, 2005 stated that, black-eyed bean a small, pale-coloured, edible bean with a black spot.

The black-eyed pea, also called black-eyed bean, ChawaLie, Lobia, Mulatto-Gelato, etc. In various languages in India, is a subspecies of the cowpea, grown around the world for its medium-sized edible bean. The bean mutates easily, giving rise to a number of varieties. The common commercial one is called the California Blackeye; it is pale-colored with a prominent black spot. Other beans of somewhat similar appearance, such as the “frijol ojo de cabra” (“goat’s eye bean”) of northern Mexico, are sometimes incorrectly called “black-eyed peas” and vice versa (Wikipedia, 2010).

In relation to our group assignment project , Black Eyed Peas was reformed and changed their name as ‘Black Eyed Pods’ after the death of their owner Eazy-E due to AIDS associated illness. The group eventually changed their name to Black Eyed Peas for the reason that considered their group as the food for the soul – as explained on the front cover of their Monkey Business album (WikiMusicGuide, 2010).


Black Eyed Peas (BEP) are an American hip-hop (musical styles Alternative Rap/Hip-Hop and Jazz Rap/Hip-Hop) group from Los Angeles, who have lately enjoyed substantial international pop success. The group is composed of,, Taboo, and Fergie.

The success of this group of four hip-hop artists began in year 1989. When and started rapping and performing together after they signed to Ruthless Records, managed by Eazy–E.
