In this assignment, the syndicate team aims to display the learnings covered in the Human Recourses and Organizational Behavior Modules, by way of recommending Thuli on aspects of leadership approaches in dealing with behaviour to ensure she receives optimal performance.

Elements of desired behaviour

The culture of any organisation is a vital cog in the wheel of bringing out the best in an employee. A positive company culture will lead to the desired employee behaviour which in turn will provide the desired organisational outcome. Employees are easily discouraged and/or disengaged when the environment they’re working in is not pleasant.

By setting goals for each team member which can be related to an overall team goal and recognition of those achievements, it will not only make the employee feel valuable and appreciated within the team or social structure, but it will also give him/her a sense of power within the team. This will also motivate the employee to not only grow himself/herself, but he/she will also grow the team to its maximum potential which will ultimately benefit the company.

The opening quote by Vince Lombardi is exactly the sort of environment that is needed to establish a positive organisational behaviour and reading from the scenario of Thuli, it is convincing to believe that this environment is absent, there is lack of direction or understanding of the vision, there is no feeling of oneness, teamwork and no defined responsibilities and accountability.
