Introduction:
Organisation behaviour refers to the study and of knowledge related to people, individuals, and groups of people working together within the organisation for the purpose of applying such knowledge towards improving an organisational effectiveness. The purpose of the study of organisational behaviour is to overcome the practical managerial problems such as how organisational goals should be se in order to enhance employee job performance and how management enhance the effectiveness of their teams. The aim of this report is to evaluate different aspects of organisational behaviour in two different organisations: Peacock and Primark. Tasks 1: Explore organisational structure and culture

1.1. Compare and contrast different organisational structure and culture of Peacock and Primark. Organisational structure:
Organisational structure refers to the system of task, reporting, and authority relationships in which the business operations are done within an organisation (Griffin and Moorhead, 2010). The structure of a firm shapes the framework of extent of control, command and communication channel among the associates and management. The organisational hierarchy of Primark is larger than Peacocks because of supporting its larger geographic areas and regions. The company’s all business operations are incorporated into three customer oriented divisions where every division is led by a president in order to serve the customers better, obtain opportunities and minimise cost. However, both companies practices machine bureaucracy due to been large and established firms. The organisational decisions in both companies are made at the top level and mechanically carried out to lower level. They attempt to influence the lower level employees in the line to the organisation goals. Organisational culture:

Organisational culture refers to the belief, value, expectations, and norms shared by the members of an organisation (Griffin and Moorhead, 2010).Organisational culture is having greater attention and significance than ever before due to working as glue for holding the members of an organisation together and offering direction to them. Organisational culture generates common ground for every individual within in an organisation and minimise the uncertainty through giving the manner to interpret events...
