Oregon Dunes Research Paper

The Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area runs from Florence to Coos Bay and extend for 40 miles long, the Oregon Dunes National Reaction Area is home to some of the biggest dunes in the world. The dunes are made of sand (brought together by the winds of the area), some of the dunes tower up to 500 feet above the sea level. The Oregon Dunes provide the perfect opportunities for adventures and a place to be by yourself. The Oregon Dunes are included to the system because of all the natural resources that are located in the park. The Recreation Area is home to over 30 lakes, pounds and streams. Some of the largest lakes are: Woahink, Siltcoos, Tanhkenitch, Eel, North and South Tenmile lakes. The Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area is located in the state of Oregon and the nearest city to the dune is North Bend.
In here you can drive a 4x4 vehicle, go on a hike, fishing, canoeing, camping, swimming, water ski, and many other activities. Not only people visit the Oregon Dunes for the beautiful view that it has, another reason for which people may be interested in visiting the Dunes is because of the meaning that it has to SI-FI community. The Oregon Dunes served as an inspiration to writer Frank Herbert to write the novel Dune. So any fan of the novel may want to go and see what Mr. Herbert believed that the word of Dune would look like. One of the reasons for which I chose this site is because of the different activities that can be conducted here.
