The city of Orangeburg, SC has a population of 13,452. It is the biggest city in Orangeburg County. It’s a small but comfortable town located just southeast of Columbia and north of Charleston. It has two high schools in the city, Orangeburg Prep and Orangeburg-Wilkenson. The city is also home to South Carolina State University and Clafin College in addition to Orangeburg Calhoun Technical College. It has plenty of places to eat and hang out. The people are nice and you couldn’t ask for a friendlier place to live. A good place to live means it is in a favorable position in the state, it has places to eat, and the community is nice and welcoming. It is right in the middle of South Carolina, so it’s hot in the summer and chilly in the winter. Orangeburg’s weather is always moderate where it never really gets too cold, so you rarely have ice on roads and other dangers of cold weather. It is also located right in between two of the biggest cities in South Carolina, Columbia and Charleston. Columbia is the capital of SC and is only 40 minutes away. Charleston is only about an hour and twenty minutes away. Both places have great colleges with exciting sporting events in every season. The shopping in both places make it easy to find anything you want. Orangeburg is a short drive away from busy cities and all they have to offer in job opportunities and entertainment but you don’t have to worry about living in the hassle of a big
