TO THE READER:

The researchers have opted to focus their work on the inefficiencies of the transport system among the three different campuses of De La Salle – College of Saint Benilde: The Main Taft Campus, The School of Design and Arts Building, and The Angelo King International Center. Through careful data gathering, ocular inspections, administrative inquiries, and logical analyses, the researchers have compiled the necessary information to make a practical and feasible project proposal. In consideration of financial constraints, the researchers have integrated in this research cost-effective options and principles that would make this undertaking fairly considerable for all parties concerned. It is therefore safe to assume that this particular project shall deliver convenience to both the targets of this proposal, and its implementing bodies.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This study was conducted to achieve multiple objectives geared towards mitigating the inconvenient effects of problems encountered by motorists traversing through the major thoroughfares surrounding all three De La Salle - College of Saint Benilde campuses. Using first-hand experience and gathered information, the researchers aimed to further enhance the efficacy of the study which is primarily directed towards the students, administration and faculty of the Benildean community. The existing problems of traffic, lack of sufficient parking facilities, security and transportation among campuses contribute greatly to the overall condition of the school populace, whether student or faculty. The inter-connectedness of the problems dealt with often lead to poor performance and morale, and this is what the researchers hope to address to implementing bodies who can make a difference to the situation. Respective authorities will be alerted of the issues at hand and the researchers will strive for collaboration with them resulting with a plan of action.

RATIONALE

The researchers, based on their personal and their peers’ experiences, chose to address the situation due to the countless transportation hassles encountered by the students of De La Salle – College of Saint Benilde in order to help them maximize productivity in school. Issues such as inadequate parking slots, heavy traffic, and long queues for the e-jeeps contribute greatly to the student’s academic standing (e.g. tardiness and absences), consequently leading to poor performance and morale.

Thus, it is in the best interest of the school to implement enhancements on the existing system in order to uphold the Benildean Core Value of Social Responsibility by being socially aware and having a deep concern for their fellow students and the administration. Through this, the researchers conducted interviews, surveys and extensive ocular observations of the area to be able to present their information...
