Competing Definitions of Liberty- How do people understand the concept of liberty and freedom. 1877 A Watershed year.

Civil war is over, problems surfacing again, murder rate all time high. Depression in 1873. Unemployment skyrocketed. Corruption rampant. Dishonest banking. Scandals galore. Election of 1876
