Opening Sound Tene In Slaughter's 'Twelfth Night'

Use the opening sound cue to foreshadow on-coming danger by using a universal symbol for danger. The distant siren is that of the shirtwaist factory fire trucks on their way to save the trapped workers, but they never reach them in time. Having the harsh work bell of the slaughterhouse interrupt the siren creates a sense of uneasiness, while also creating and undercurrent that continues the sense of danger into the next scene.
