Open Border Immigration

Supporters of an open border argue that the new immigrants will improve our economy drastically while saving them from their corrupt government. However, those supporters look past the fact that those same illegal immigrants escalate the crime in America, take jobs from citizens, all while living in America at a very minimal cost tax wise.
The number of illegal immigrant crimes in America has escalated drastically since border control has loosened. Advocates for an open border argue that immigrants coming to the United United States illegally are all good people who do not commit crime. However the true facts are best summed up by Breit Bart’s website, “Criminal aliens accounted for 38% of all murder convictions in the five states of California,
employers who are able to hire them for wages lower than they would have to pay to hire U.S. workers.” (FAIR 1). Many open border supporters accept that fact while rejecting the fact that those same people take American jobs. However, many national organizations have estimated that 8.5 million jobs are taken by illegal immigrants. That number comes from the estimate that 74% of the 11.9 million illegal immigrants work. Because the immigrants will take low wages, it is appealing for employers with lower level job offerings to hire illegal immigrants. For people without a high school degree, or even a college degree, it is near impossible to find un-skilled job offerings. Adding to this, the only taxes illegal immigrants consistently pay are sales taxes because they are charged at the register. Although some taxes are paid, it is estimated that only 50% of illegal immigrants register for property taxes and income taxes. Since the percent of America’s population of illegal immigrants is rising exponentially, the tax loss for the government is going to start making an even bigger
