K-8 Teacher These are some facts & expectations when becoming a k-8 teacher . A teacher must have education requirements , income range , dress code , responsibilities/duties , and continuing education . A teacher earns a lot of money if they have been teaching for over than 20 years . Being a teacher requires hard work & dedication . Every teacher needs education requirements to become a teacher . A teacher must have completed specific minimum requirements in college training . Every teacher has to be 18 years or older to become a teacher . All over the world teachers must have education requirements to teach . Most districts operate on a step & column basis . You can move down a “step” for every year you are employed as a teacher and you move over a “column” by earning units and/or graduate degrees . All teachers have an income range when teaching . Of course every teacher in the world gets paid . All teachers have an income range when teaching . Just like students , teachers have a dress code . Every school has a different requirement for what teacher can wear . Mostly districts have the same type of dress code . Teachers can wear regular clothes such as pants , shirts , jackets , and shoes . These are some things about dress code that teachers should wear . A teacher is in charge of correcting all the students daily homework . These are some of the responsibilities and duties a teacher is required to have . A teacher must be willing to continue teaching education throughout the years . A teacher can be teaching for a lot of years , a lot of them get paid more to teach depending on how many years they’ve been teaching . Other teachers retire quickly , did you know that rarely any people retire in their 30’s . These are some facts about teachers continuing education .     The teacher quality of today is much weaker than what it has been in the past. In his article A New Deal For Teachers , Matthew Miller explains the demand for good teachers. He informs his readers that many teachers aren’t actually teaching because that was their desired profession, but because it was a last resort, so they don’t care as much for the students learning. Another issue of the teacher quality is salary. Miller explains that in the 1960s and 1970s school teachers were all very talented women but higher paying careers were not open to them. Now that those careers such as a doctor or a lawyer are open to anyone they are often taken over teaching because of the huge difference in salaries. The difference of a lawyer compared to teacher is around $2,000 starting out but topping out at around a difference of about $110,000.
