Online Social Networking Sites: the Great Benefits
Nowadays using social networking sites are the most popular way for people around the world to communicate with each other. They gather people together, from one’s own high school to anywhere across the globe. As the scope of SNSs is being widened continuously, using SNSs is not only just for communication; they can also be used in other areas, like education and business. Therefore, these days it is certain that using online social networking sites are beneficial because they are good for people in relationships, education and business. The primary reason of SNSs are beneficial is that people’s relationships can become more deeper. As the number of users on SNSs has witnessed a dramatic growth in recent years, various people around the world have gotten the chance to make contact with each other despite the distance. More users lead to wider relationships and more chances to find people in common. According to London-based Informa Telecoms and Media, there was a four-time increase in the number of videos uploaded to YouTube to 198 million from 2009 to 2011 (Dye, 2011). However, for many troubled people, it can be a very helpful method. In fact, people with problems can use SNSs to connect and communicate with others more deeply than they can in their real lives. People can be nervous and embarrassed when talking their problems to friends that they are familiar with. In contrast, problems can be discussed and solved more easily through SNSs. For example, a young gay or lesbian teen who may be having difficulty finding a supportive friend or family member to discuss their problems or concerns, may be

The development of public social networking websites is surely apparent to anyone in the Twenty first century. Because the world has been changing so much technically, public media tools and websites also consume me. It appears that websites have begun to modify my identity as an individual, whether I like it or not. Some of these changes are good, and yet others are not. Social networking, such as Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, Formspring, and Instagram, has virtually enabled students around the world to create online study groups and chat rooms to enhance their learning experience. In an article by Paulette Stewart, an author for Feature magazine, a group of high school library volunteers are brought together by their librarian to test out an online literature study group on Faceboook. The students mingle and begin to become thoroughly engaged as they read one book each month and then converse about the literature they had read. Throughout the simulation, the students begin to come forward and speak more openly about their opinions and literary views of the novels they had read (29). This example shows how Facebook, a social networking site, proved to be a productive educational outlet for students to engage socially with each other in a virtual classroom which resulted in authentic research and easier communication amongst students via a social media outlet.…

Social networks have caused a revolution in the way how people communicate. They provide platforms for users to connect and communicate with not only relatives and friend in their real world but also friends made through the internet. According to Barbera (2009), SNSs allow every user to describe themselves by entering information of their background such as schools they had entered, demographics (e.g. gender, age) and cultural tastes (e.g. favorite books, movies, singers). Users can post photos and also write about themselves on their profiles, making self-promotion. By this way, social networking enables people to connect and show themselves to friends and get to communicate with that person regularly that is very similar to hooking up with their friends after work or school. Moreover SNSs create a way for making new friends with that share the same interests. For example people who are greatly interest in basketball, they could join in the same community and talk about that.…
