1. INTRODUCTION
An Information System is a system that combines information technology, people, and data to support business requirements. It handles daily business transactions with result to improving company productivity. It also helps the managers to make sound decision that concerns the operation of the business. [FLOR2010]
The major components to accomplish the specific transaction that will represent information are People, Machine and Method. It depends on the manual transaction and concerned in providing information on the particular situation or problem.
A transaction process system (TPS) is an information processing system for business transactions involving the collection, modification and retrieval of all transaction data. Characteristics of a TPS include performance, reliability and consistency. [TECH2012]
TPS process every detailed data that will update records about a particular transaction of the company and should follow the procedures of the business. Those procedures are like routine being done repeatedly. It is more efficient and effective when the users need to retrieve, modify and store a certain data on computer system in a minimal period of time. Once the information stored into the database. It is more accessible compare on grouping all the transaction and processes them in a bulk.
MSL star is one example of a company that uses TPS. MSL Stars is using Microsoft excel to store all the information, requirements and condition of the applicant. And Microsoft Word for creating a list of qualified applicant on specific job position that will send to the client through yahoomail.com. With the increase of number of applicant every day, the company procedure fail to simplify ordinary task such as; monitoring and updating data and status. Even searching and filtering of applicant’s data and status takes time.
