One Day: A Fictional Narrative
Katherine listened intently to Ashlynn talking about her life as a Paladin, and it confirmed many suspicions she had about the holy knights. They were strict and lonely. “I could be wrong, you never said anything to make me think that. Your actions speak loud and clear.” Especially when the Paladin spared her life. They could hide behind their oaths and say they do not backstab, but Kat had a feeling nine out of ten times she would have been dead.

“Maybe it is just the ale talking, though. I understand how monsters think- not humans.” Katherine finished as they stopped at the room. Katherine already knew she was going to roll right off the bed in her sleep.

Katherine turned to face Ashlynn. “Thank you so much for your generosity. I do have one last favour to ask. Do you have a map? I know I cannot stay in this city for long before people chime in that I was a part of the church that had the cult. I need to figure out where I can migrate to.” She spoke in a whisper as her eyes glanced around the room

But when she finally understood that Kevin wasn’t going to help her, she turned away and said, “Be that way then. Moreover, Kath was hurt whenever Christine would invite everyone but Kath to her parties, but Kath would always act like it didn’t matter to her. In addition to that, Kath responded so emotionally when Kevin refused to help her with her audition: “Kath looked like she…
