One Belt One Road Strategy Analysis
The “One Belt, One Road” strategy is a network of infrastructure and trade, and it includes the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road and Silk Road Economic Belt. 21st Century Maritime Silk Road is an initiative from China to increase collaboration and investment between the countries on the Silk Road. The Silk Road connects Asia with Europe, India and parts of Africa. The Maritime Silk Road together with the Silk Road Economic Belt forms the “One Belt, One Road” strategy. The “One Belt, One Road” initiative is basically a framework from the Chinese government to intergrade investment and trade in Europe and Asia.

The strategy was first proposed by the President of China, Xi Jinping, in 2013. The basic principals of the “One Belt One Road” strategy is equality and mutual benefits. It connects Europe with the Asia-Pacific Economic Circle, and impacts 4.4 billion people. As a CEO of a multinational corporation there is a risk of the different economic and political situations in different countries. The “One Belt One Road” initative is not only an economic initiative, but also a big political imitative. The United Kingdom and China has very different fundamental financial and legal challenges, and this is a risk for me as a CEO. If and my company want to benefit from the “One Belt One Road” initiative, it is important for my company to identify what sector in China my company fits and find an appropriate Chinese partner to learn about all the different political and legal in China compared to the United Kingdom. It is also good to consult with the China-Britain Business Council, and United Kingdom Trade and Investment. They support United Kingdom companies to enter the Chinese
