Oncology Nurse Research Paper
I want to major in nursing and my intention is to become a certified oncology pediatric nurse in the future. An oncology nurse deals with working with patients who have been diagnosed with cancer. Yes, it is something that can be very painful to go through at times, but I think more on the positive side such as helping them with their needs and just making sure they feel comfortable. I want to be able to be that person along their side through all their hard moments and be able to provide some sort of happiness so that they won’t always have to remember about the situation that they are going through. Personally, I decided to focus on specifically becoming an oncology nurse because my grandpa is currently fighting cancer himself and even though

There are many aspects of health care that intrigue me. I’ve always wanted to be a nurse; unfortunately it is very difficult to get into the program. However, if I ever go back to do that, I would want to either do labor and delivery or pediatrics. I have had the privilege of witnessing the birth of one of my nieces and it was the most amazing experience. To be a nurse and being a part of that on a daily basis would be awesome. I also have an extra soft spot for children, which is why pediatrics would also be of interest to me. Life threatening diseases do not only affect adults. I feel that being able to help children would only be helping our future.…

Nursing, in my opinion, is one of the most significant professions that one can be blessed to acquire. To those who pursue this field know it is a career that requires far more than simply an education even though the knowledge acquired from a degree is extremely important and necessary, by grasping rationale of the laws and regulations that rule nursing. A career in nursing requires someone to have compassion, sympathy, and care for others, especially those who are suffering from pain, illness and lack the understanding of what is happening to them or a loved one. It is a career of humanity, and it is this that first attracted me to a Masters degree in Nursing. My philosophy about nursing is that it is a career that one has to work hard for, but also a career that a person needs to have to a natural affinity for. I also believe one must have a commitment to helping others not expecting anything in return but a smile and knowing when you go home you gave your all. The ability to be a compassionate, caring nurse is what I hope to bring to the Masters degree in Nursing Program, gaining…

Kimberly, Thank you for your post. In my capstone paper I presented a paper about teaching a subject on cultural diversity for nurses. I want this class to be an in-service class just like yours. A 45 minutes class and not a 4-8 week semester class would be best for me to teach. I am not ready to teach beyond 45 minutes. I think teaching comes with time and experience. I would not like to give a boring lecture, but a person has to start somewhere. Sorry about the way things are happening at your work place, but you will overcome and succeed. A prior class on capstone fundamentals would have enlighten me on how to write a capstone that is agreeable.…

At that time I experienced having my niece hospitalized when being a month old from pneumonia. Those moments are hard experiences that no one would like to experience but it is part of life. Therefore since that time I want to make a difference on the people who have to be hospitalized, helping them to recover. Although I would like to specialize with infants and children because they have a lower immune system and those are the most fundamental years of their lives.…
