The central idea of “On the Death of Martin Luther King Jr.” by Robert F Kennedy is to persuade the readers America has been fighting this fight between African Americans and caucasian has gone on for so long and has killed too many people and to help the people understand how bad it has gotten he tells the people that Martin Luther King Jr has past away. This speech is compelling because he changed his speech last minute so he could tell the people what has happened and he adds pathos by telling them he has gone thru the same pain with his brother. The first main idea about the speech is to tell the people what we need to do next using ethos and logos. Martin has devoted his life to love and care, so America would changed the way they saw black people, that they are 100% human and should be treated equal therefor; he changed so many lives. So, when the news hit Robert F. Kennedy he changed his speech once he hird. He said, “ Comprehend” Kennedy to tell the people that we needed to change and adapt to this to make a solution not a problem, by using
Kennedy us ethos by saying “Martin Luther King dedicated his life to love and to justice.” (Kennedy) In this paragraph he used sentence structure. He used sentence structure by chunking the paragraphs that talked about Martin so it separates the ones that don't talk about Martin’s actions. Also, he made one paragraph with one sentence connecting it all together so they know he is still talking about Martin. one sentence was, “ and he died for that effort” (Kennedy). He used just that phrase to use ethos by talking about the past periods he also wanted to use Martin to tell the people we need to move on by saying, “ or can we make an effort as Martin Luther King did.” (Kennedy) Yes, the whole speech was made telling people that he died but he wanted to tell the different message to explain that we need to make a move like the central idea
