The book starts off with Allie Denty walking in on her boyfriend cheating on her with the delivery girl in her own bed. Allie was devastated because she thought her boyfriend was faithful and thought that he loved her. Once she kicked him out, she sat down and completed what had just happened to her. She then realizes that she now has no date to her high school 20-year reunion. She was already dreading the occasion and now she is deeding it even more. When Allie goes to his house that night to tell him the truth, he also confesses everything. He tells her that the only reason he is getting married to Vicky is because she is pregnant. At the reunion Vicky and the husband of one of the girls at the reunion meet up alone outside, and Olivia saw them, but she thought it was nothing. When she found out that Vicky was pregnant she accused her of pinning the pregnancy on Noah when it really wasn't his child. So Olivia told all of this to Allie. Then Olivia went over to Vicky's house and told her her suspicion, while at the same time Allie when to Noah's house to tell him. Noah was really pissed off and took his car and went to Vicky's.
