old shoes
In a way shoes are just like friends. They come new and sparkly, shining their personality, all bright, soft and smooth and ready to be there for you through tough hard, soft and playful or just horrible ground. You are the same way in return. You appreciate their new and friendly personality, thinking your friendship will never be the same, hope your friendship will grow with every small brown and muddy step. You cherish the shoes, you took time to save up for the shoes, you appreciate the shoes, you every now and then look back to that day when you first slipped that bright brown leather sole out that awful dull box, you think of the joy it gave you and how you hoped one day the shoe and you will one day come wonderful friends.
But then, the shoes start getting worn out or you have had the shoes for a long time. Either the friendship changes, the shoes grow old, they begin to sage and crinkle that smell of fresh leather and the feel is gone, or new and bright shoes come along, ones that are in tune with the latest styles, ones that are bright, colourful and happy, ones who draws in all the attention, not a single crack or crinkle to be seen. Are you going to hold on to your old shoes? The ones who have been through it all, the ones were every mark, scratch, dent tells a different and exciting tale. I try to do the best I can, because sometimes those shoes are my favourite, they know my life story, they have walk the same path, over every obstacle, challenge and has the engraves of my feet in its old, dull brown soles to show it. They are reliable and even though they don't always sparkle and shine, they still are my best shoes.
But maybe, a new friend is in order one that is young and not as experience one which still has to see what the worlds holds for it. It’s a sad thing to say but, my old friend, the one with the wrinkly tip, that looks like an old little lady, sitting there, the one who will always smile as my feet slip into the perfect mould, although

They had incredible support and impeccable cushioning. I wore them when my family and I would go out to get nourishments, to go out to freelance, and in school. When they would become a little scuffed or unsanitary, I would take a rag and scour them off thoroughly to make them appear to be fresh out of the box. But one day, I made a bad decision. I wore them to the baseball fields on a somber day. Towards the back of the park is the fields that the older kids played games on. I saw my friends being sedentary in one of the pavilions. I rode over to them on my bike and sat down next to one of them on the old, brown bench. We were listening to music and talking about arbitrary things until one of them said that we should go in the pond. It was about 7:30 P.M. and it was getting dark out. The sun was setting on the horizon as he stepped into the brown, murky water that the ducks swam in. There is also turtles in that pond, but we did not know that back then. He hollered back at us, “Y'all got to do it too now!” Without hesitation, my friend and I hopped off the bench and walked into the water. It was frigid to start out, but after about two minutes it became warmer. With goosebumps down my arms, I had fun throwing a football back and forth in the water with them. I had to go because it was getting late and as soon as I stepped out it hit me. I had left my shoes on. I looked down and I saw my shoes go from…

I am a girl who has a passion for fashion. It is no secret that most women love to shop, shopping for me is therapeutic. The one article of clothing that really describes my personality is Shoes! Just like a drug addict who has to have their fix, my addiction is fabulous pair of shoes and I have got to have them! Do not get me wrong, I have a weakness for clothing too; the way a person dresses does express their individual style. Clothing trends are seasonal; it is not hard to put an outfit together for little or nothing. But shoes on the other hand, are a whole different story. I used to just buy shoes that looked amazing; I did not care if they were comfortable or not, that is not an option anymore. Now that my feet are no longer twenty-two and working on bursting thirty wide open next year, comfort is a must, with a capital C. Five or six years ago, I would by shoes that hurt when I tried them on, and would go out and dance the night away, but a person would never know that my feet felt like they were going to fall off. After abusing my poor feet for all those years I knew a change needed to happen, and giving up my shoe fetish was not an option. When I put on a pair of shoes, they expressed my vibrate personality, I love a pair of shoes that just speaks to people without me even saying a word. An awesome pair of shoes can make any outfit look great; they are the perfect accessory for anyone. I believe a pair of shoes can tell a lot about a person, say for instance a man; if a man has on a busted pair of shoes that are all dirty and scuffed up that is a red flag that clearly states, he is messy and does not take care of him self. Now when a woman has on a not so great pair of shoes, it just says she obviously does not have a clue about fashion. One thing is for sure, I may not spend a huge amount of money on my cloths, but I can bet that I would spend top dollar on an amazingly, fabulous, and comfortable pair…
