An appropriate via media is ‘assisted living', where the aged can live independently but with some younger friends or relatives to help in times of need. The widening divide between the young and old generations is unhealthy. We may not have time to care and cook for our parents or chat with them. But old-age homes are not a solution. Think about it! We would have missed out on mythological stories, a lap to nap on and delicious food if our parents had sent our grandparents to old age homes.

This attitude has resulted in many living a lonely life Placing parents in old age homes may be “cruel” but to many they are a boon.
