Official Age To Start Working Paper
Why is fourteen the official age to start working? Why can’t it be twelve? I think that if people younger than fourteen wanted to get a job then they should be able to. The age to get working papers should be moved from fourteen to a younger age.

First of all, it would let kids work if they want to. Some kids are very mature for their age and want to work. If the age was lowered, then kids that aren’t very mature will become more mature. Lowering the age will also build character. They will realize how hard their parents work, and this will make them more grateful and they will want to work harder. This is one of the reasons I think the age should be lowered.

In addition, allowing younger kids to work could help the students and their families financially. A lot of families need extra money and with another person

They won’t get to enjoy being a kid. Lowering the age to twelve is not that much younger. At the age of twelve, kids are turning into teenagers. Their childhood is basically over, and they need to start planning for the future. They would be developing a work ethic, which is a skill they will use their whole lives in school as well as in life. They will want to work harder in school because they will learn the harder you work the more it pays off in the future. Some people might disagree, but the pros outnumber the …show more content…

There are many dangers and potential problems with lowering the drinking age. The states of Massachusetts, Michigan and Maine lowered the drinking age, and then experienced a slight increase in alcohol related crashes among the 18 to 20 year old age range. Desired results? Hardly. What about insurance companies? The law may recognize the age being lowered, but insurance might not. The rates of drivers 21 years old and younger would skyrocket which seems really unfair, especially when the unemployment rate is so high right now. Most teenagers who have not had a drink yet might engage in binge drinking, causing legal issues, and using lack of judgment. The crime rate would be outrageous.…

It is a fact that many teenagers drink even though they are underage. Whether its at home, parties, or just at hang out places. People make all this mess about how easy teenagers can get to alcohol. If they lower the drinking age then twelve and thirteen year olds will be able to get alcohol even easier and start drinking at a even younger age, but according to statistics that's not true, because now 71% of 8th graders say it is easy for them to get alcohol. So it wouldn’t make a difference if the age was lowered.…

In Japan, it is prohibited that students have a job in a law until they are junior high school students. As an exception, they can work to help their parents a bit. However, many high school students have a part time job, although they are still teenagers. This system makes sense for me. Therefore, I agree with the idea that teenagers who are still students have a job if they are high school students. I would like to show three of the reasons in writing.…
