Of Mice Persuasive Speech
They’re cute, they’re little, and they always make cats look stupid in cartoons. So, what can be bad about mice? As it turns out - everything. Ask any specialist in pest control in Frisco TX and they’ll tell you not to let their size and adorable whiskers fool you. Mice are almost as destructive as the rats that invade our homes and they carry the same diseases. And unluckily for us, they know that the best place to be for food, water and warmth is where we are. With colder weather coming, you can be sure that they’re hunkering down in our attics, wall voids, basements and garages, waiting out the winter.

If you don’t see mice, how will you know if you have a mouse problem? Usually, the first thing you’ll notice are mouse droppings

If roof rats are seen exposed, it often indicates their hiding spaces are all filled by other rats or that they have been disturbed, such as by construction. Droppings are another good indicator of roof rat activity. Roof rat droppings are 12 to 13 mm with pointed ends, whereas Norway rat droppings are 18 to 20 mm and capsule shaped. Other indicators can include grease marks along surfaces as well as nests. Grease marks are produced as the rodent travels along an edge, and the oils in their fur are deposited.…

This scenario is an absolute disaster; I could not even imagine the possibility of having 20 mice roaming around in my attic. Initially, the cat would catch the five slowest mice. Then, I believe that eventually the cat would catch the five medium fast mice. Now the real problem starts, mice can reproduce at a phenomenal rate. Let’s assume that of the 10 mice left, five are males and five are females. "At 6 weeks old the female can become pregnant. [The] gestation [period for mice] is 3 weeks, and under optimal conditions the female can become pregnant again immediately after giving birth” (AFRMA, n.d., para.1). To make matters worse a female mouse can have anywhere from 5-10 babies in a litter, so the five remaining female mice could potentially…

Chipmunks are part of the Rodent family, and considered to be agricultural and horticultural pests when they eat gardens and destroy plants and shrubbery. When Chipmunks are present in larger numbers (and their numbers are always larger than you think) they can cause significant structural damage by burrowing under patios, stairs, retention walls, garage aprons and foundations. In your garage, storage building or home they cause enormous problems and even put your family in severe danger by eating electrical insulation and building nests in your walls.…

I am writing you today to ask for your support. This year, on Saturday, August 5, I will be riding in my first Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC), from Wellesley to Bourne. The PMC raises money for cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. My employer, Waters Technologies Corporation, is sponsoring a team for the first time, so I decided to join “Team Waters.” I will be riding in honor of my Mom, a breast cancer survivor and in memory of my sister, Jayne, who on May 17, 2017 lost her battle to liver and colon cancer.…

First, it is important why the mice are such a problem. One of the many things that the mice have against them is that they are the only nonnative species left on the island. The mice first came when seal hunters first sailed to the islands to hunt the abundance of elephant and harbor seals. The second problem is that the mice are attracted Burrowing Owls to the island. The owls not only eat mice, in the winter when the mouse population drops drastically they turn to their second option, birds. Their favorite bird to snack on the Ashy Storm Petrel which is currently on California's Endangered Birds list. Half of the Ashy Storm Petrel's 8,000 population comes to the Farallons to nest and feed. Another problem the mice are causing is…

In the book, Animal Farm he’s described as a fat pig with a shrill voice, nimble movements, and a brilliant talker. Squealer has a way with words. The famous Ralph Waldo Emerson quote, “build a better mousetrap, and the world will beat a path to your door” has inspired many people to create mousetraps. Mousetraps are the most invented thing in America with over four thousand four hundred patents. Many mousetrap designs are created by ameture builders, and fewer than twenty five designs have ever made money. According to the article, the best mouse trap has already been built, the fundamental snap trap made by John Mast. The trap “consists simply of a three-by-one-and-a-half-inch pallet of pine upon which are stapled a fifteen-gauge coil- spring -powered “killer bar” a two-inch-long “trigger rod”, and a “bait pedal”. That trap was built in 1899, and no trap design has been better…

Persuasive speeches have been the most challenging speeches in this class for me. The goal is to influence the belief of an audience, convincing them to choose a side. The first persuasive speech I done I was nervous for some odd reason. When it comes to informative speeches I can talk a lot, but it’s different with persuasive speeches. Gaining the attention of the audience enough to persuade them is the major key to a good persuasive speech. Speech 3 was the longest persuasive speech being four to six minutes and it seemed to be the longest. With persuasive speeches, you want to provide the audience with enough information so they’ll be able to choose a side, most likely the side you’re arguing for.…

Any individual mouse will itself eventually die, but the mouse of time continues nibbling away at everything forever. We have some control over a real mouse, but we have no control at all over the mouse of time. Nobody – living or dead – defeats the mouse of time (unless, of course, one accepts the idea of life after death)…
