Odysseus As A Hero In Homer's The Odyssey

“The Odyssey” Essay.

I will be writing a essay of the book The Odyssey written by the person Homer. The main reason why I am written is so that you can know Odysseus is a hero because how he helps other people before he would help himself. In “The Odyssey”, Odysseus is a hero because of how he got all the suitors out of the house. I believe that he is a hero for that because of the way that they just moved in and tried to marry his wife. Also that they were eating all of his animals fruit and other things also that they were drinking all of his wine. They were also mean to his servants and to son which made him mad at them. Then when he came they did not know and they were treating him like that he was nothing and that he should die. So that is the reason why he had to kill all of the suitors. Also in “The Odyssey”, Odysseus will help out others before he will help him self. When he help get the men out of the cave before he gets himself out of the cave. That is one thing that I think he has done has a good thing to help out all of his men. That is not a good reason why he is not a hero because they got themselves killed because of they way they were trying to marry his wife. Plus what they had done to all of his stuff like how they ate all of his animals, drank all of his wine, and how they treated his son and the servants. Another reason why is that when Odysseus’s wife said, “That they shall all pay for what they had done to all of them”, so how they had payed for what they have done is when Odysseus came back he had killed all of them. So that means that Odysseus did not kill them for no reason he had killed them because of the way they had treated his son and
