Occupational Therapy Interview Review
On Tuesday 18th April, Manon and myself met with Kim the occupational therapy supervisor to discuss the client, Jessica. Throughout the during of the interview, my posture was correct with open body language. When Kim and Manon spoke during the interview I demonstrated my active listening skills and acknowledgment of both individual's through the use of maintaining proper eye contact and providing encouraging motions such as head nods and vocal gestures.

    The video displayed Sue Johnson, a counselor who works with a couple using the Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). During the interview the counselor Sue begin the exploration stage by going over somethings that they have discussed in their previous meeting. She explained to the couple that she would be taking notes during the session to help her stay on track with what is important. She also explained to them that if there is something that she is saying that isn’t correct, they have the right to stop her at any time.     As an interviewer I clarified my role as an occupational therapist to the service user and explained how I could be of benefit to her. I used the Canadian Occupational Performance Measure to evaluate her main problem areas and we were able to establish what her priorities and goals were.     For this paper I am interviewing my friend's mother who lives down the street from me. Her name is Kimberly Addison and she is a registered nurse in the State Of California, who acquired her registered nursing license August 31st 1987. She has experience as a hospice nurse, Charge nurse, trauma nurse, Head nurse of the ER and Director of Nursing. One of the first questions I asked Mrs. Addison was that if I wanted to take up nursing what should I do and what are the primary requirements.
